Who is the best candidate for skin rejuvenation?

Laser rejuvenation can very likely help you achieve a younger and healthier skin tone and texture. Even minor skin roughness and pigmentation problems can benefit from skin rejuvenation.

For more extensive blemishes, aged skin, and other complexion concerns, fractional resurfacing can reach deep for a dramatically smoother and brighter complexion.

Is fractional resurfacing or BBL the best option for me?

While it’s difficult to answer this question without an in-office evaluation, generally speaking, the fractional laser technology is best suited to treat lines and wrinkles, along with minor skin sagging and deeper scarring.

On the other hand, BBL can treat skin redness, sun damage, age spots, and hyperpigmentation with fewer treatments and less peeling after treatment.

What does "ablative" mean?

Ablative treatments physically remove the top layer of damaged skin during the treatment appointment. The most common ablative laser treatments are carbon dioxide (CO2) and Erbium (or YAG) lasers.

This is a more aggressive form of skin rejuvenation and is not appropriate for all skin types, particularly darker skin. There is more downtime following ablative treatments.

On the other hand, non-ablative laser treatments are designed to encourage your damaged outer layers of skin to naturally peel following treatment, making them more gentle and comfortable with little to no downtime.

Can I combine skin resurfacing with other surgery or non-surgical procedures?

Yes. In fact, for many of our patients who have procedures like facelifts and eyelid surgery, we recommend a skin rejuvenation procedure to create a more comprehensive refresh, since these surgical procedures alone will not change the tone and texture of the skin.

We can also perform skin rejuvenation in conjunction with other non-surgical treatments like BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers.

How long will my results last?

Results following fractional skin resurfacing can last 3 to 5 years, depending on the skin conditions being treated and how well you care for your skin after treatment.

Most of our patients who have a BBL rejuvenation treatment like to come back every 6 to 12 months to continue to enjoy a smooth, brighter looking complexion.
