Advanced Skin Imaging in Concord, CA

That bathroom mirror can be a little misleading. Depending on the lighting or angle, your skin might look different every time you check. When you want more than just a guess at what your skin needs, it helps to get a clearer, more objective view.

VISIA Complexion Analysis gives you exactly that—a non-invasive way to see what’s really going on beneath the surface. It maps out things like sun damage, pore size, and pigmentation so you can stop guessing and start making informed choices. If you’re curious about which treatments could benefit your skin, this is a great place to start.

What Is VISIA Complexion Analysis?

The VISIA face scanner is a digital imaging system that captures detailed photographs of your skin to reveal things you can’t always see in the mirror. It looks beyond the surface, analyzing areas that might be showing early signs of aging, sun exposure, or congestion. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of your skin’s condition and what may help it function and look its best. It’s a quick, no-contact way to gather solid information before jumping into treatments.

Dr. Mariotti and his staff are the best! Always kind, upbeat and a joy to be around. Have had lots of procedures and each one positive. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.”

What to Expect From Your VISIA Analysis

Preparation

There’s not much you need to do before your scan, but arriving with a clean, makeup-free face helps the system capture the most accurate images. Avoid applying heavy moisturizers, sunscreens, or tinted products right beforehand. If you’re wearing anything on your skin when you arrive, we’ll help you remove it so the scan results are as clear as possible.

Scan and Review

During a VISIA face scan, you’ll sit comfortably with your chin and forehead resting on the device while the scanner rotates around your face, capturing high-resolution images from multiple angles. The software then evaluates wrinkles, skin texture, pore size, UV spots, brown spots, red areas from inflammation or broken capillaries, and porphyrins, which are bacterial deposits in pores. It also calculates your “True Skin Age” and compares your results to others in your age group using percentile scoring. All of this happens in just a few minutes.

Treatment Recommendations

Once we’ve reviewed your scan, we can start talking about what your skin may benefit from. Depending on what shows up, we might suggest treatments like resurfacing lasers, chemical peels, injectables, or shifts in your at-home skincare routine. The analysis helps us avoid a trial-and-error approach and instead focus on what makes sense for your skin’s specific patterns.

How Often Should I Get the VISIA Skin Analysis?

Most people start with a scan before beginning a new skincare routine or treatment plan, then repeat it every few months to track progress. If you’re doing a series of treatments like peels or lasers, follow-up scans can help measure changes in skin texture, tone, or pigmentation. Even once or twice a year can be useful for adjusting your routine as your skin evolves.

“Our VISIA complexion analysis system takes the guesswork out of skin care by revealing concerns that might not be visible to the naked eye. This technology allows us to customize your treatments so you see meaningful results exactly where you need them most.”

— Dr. Mariotti
